Situated on the Broadway corridor in the thick of the Los Angeles downtown core, the Rialto Theater has stood its ground over the years as a famous theater (then shuttered) and now has reemerged as a hip retailer venue. Built in 1917, the Rialto was part of a larger movie theater neighborhood that lasted for decades until the area took a turn and many of its theaters closed. In 2013, Urban Outfitters took over the decrepit building and did a major overhaul to the interior while preserving the elegance of the exterior. Root Development handled the entitlement process for the project and now the building shines once again with an entirely new program of retail.
